You’re passionate about your business.
I’m passionate about graphic design.
Some people try to think outside the box when they design, I try to design like there is no box.
Design can be boundless… unlimited! There are infinite possibilities. No two designers design alike. We are limited only by things like budget, ad specifications, audience, material, etc. I work with and within these boundaries. Pushing them where I can.
I believe that process and collaboration should be as exciting and fun as the end result. I love taking your ideas, brainstorming, and turning them into the reality that you’ve dreamed about. In a sense, making your dream come true. Designing to fit any style, taste or need that represents YOU, is my goal.
Who am I?
I’m a problem solver, video game player, artist, wannabe singer/musician. I like to paint with acrylics and mixed media, sing in a choir (or in the shower), meet for coffee, drink wine with friends, wear matching jewelry, and create something from nothing.
Most of all I want to make your business look good. It’s not just my JOB… it’s my passion.
From a child artist growing up in my parent’s print shop to studying architecture to working in corporate creative departments to illustrating curriculum as a missionary in Honduras to sharing my experience as a freelance graphic designer, I owe a debt of gratitude to my family, friends, teachers, employers and clients who have encouraged and inspired me along the way. Most of all, I thank God for the opportunities He has given me — some in the form of trials — that have shaped who I am as a person and as a designer.
Embracing My Journey…
Early Childhood
Loved to draw, paint and create, using found objects and materials. Won first, second, and third place ribbons at Texas State Fair for various art projects entered.
Growing Up Years
Helped out in family-owned print shop. Learned the basics of printing and design, which proved invaluable for years to come. Studying random printed material with a loupe (small magnifying glass) was standard procedure around the dinner table.
High School & College
Studied architecture. Honored as Who’s Who in Industrial Arts. Won award in architectural contest. Received scholarship from Dallas Panhellenic Association. Made/modified clothing. A drafting table and sewing machine always on hand.
Over 30 Years of Experience
Production Artist, Graphic Designer, Creative Director, Art Director, Director of Desktop Publishing, Newspaper & Magazine Creative Editor, Communications Coordinator, Office/Production Manager. These are titles I’ve had over the years, as an employee, freelancer, or missionary.
Pioneer
A graphic designer on a PC when Mac was the norm. Bridged the gap between Macs and PCs, as well as designers and corporations. Started using page layout and illustration software in their infancy, when versions were 1.x. Led two graphics software user’s groups (Corel Draw and Ventura Publisher) for the better part of a decade, more than doubling each of their memberships. Developed and produced game shows based on these graphics programs and took them to conferences coast to coast.
With Experience Comes Confidence
Started career before computers. Experienced the evolution of mechanical design layout and offset printing to the saturation of digital media in the era we are in now… embracing every change and challenge along the way. I found my place in the world when computers took over. But, getting my hands dirty (literally) doing it the old-fashioned way, gives me an appreciation for how far we have come.
Freelance Graphic Designer
Specializing in printed material, logo design, branding, digital design, and video editing. Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office. And, although I still work well on a Windows-based PC, these days I work primarily on Mac computers and Apple devices. I am technically savvy. Intuitive. Versatile. Passionate. Determined.
